Testimonial
I had purchased a leather chair from a thrift store. It was kind of a pinkish color with darker tones on part of it. I used your Jaguar cleaner first to make sure it was ready for the conditioner. The conditioner made a huge difference in the chair's appearance. As I rubbed the conditioner into the chair leather it slowly began to transform itself from pink to a deep mahogany. The leather is much softer feeling now; especially on the arms. It honestly looks like a different, more expensive chair after using your cleaner and conditioner. I will continue to use your products.

Advice from Obenauf's: Leather is Delicate - Clean Leather Carefully!!

Leather Cleaning Treatment Consideration #1: Leather will often darken or change color when you treat it with any type of cleaner or conditioner, therefore always apply in an out-of-the-way spot to ensure you are pleased with the color and results. Leather is very prone to color changes, so regardless of what product or products you ultimately select, make sure you test carefully. If you have a stain on your leather, it is advisable to treat the entire piece, being careful to apply a uniform amount so that all the leather will look the same. If the leather has a high gloss finish, this may not be as crucial. Again, test first to determine this.

Leather Cleaning Treatment Consideration #2: Cleaning leather may often cause it to stiffen after treatment, so it is important to replenish the lost oils. The second step to cleaning leather properly is to replace the oils that have been removed during the cleaning process. After the cleaned leather dries, always use Obenauf's Leather Care Products to restore suppleness.

How to Clean Leather Furniture with White Jaguar Leather Cleaner

Shake well, and apply a small amount onto a cloth, sponge or brush. Do not soak the applicator and then apply, or the water will streak the leather when it runs. If more solution is needed then spray directly on the leather, being careful to let it soak in each time and not puddle or run.

Work into the leather with a gentle circular motion making sure the dirt is lifting and becoming suspended in the solution. Repeat, if necessary, to lift heavy soil. Never over saturate the leather or use too stiff of a brush. Leather comes in many thicknesses and finishes; some are very delicate. White Jaguar Leather Cleaner can be used on Nubuck but you will need to use a special brush when it is dry to bring back the soft texture (test first).

Wipe off dirt with a clean cloth as you reapply the cleaner. Change cloths when they become dirty and continue until the leather is clean. It is better to conduct 3-4 light cleanings at one time than one soaking session.

Dry thoroughly, then, VERY IMPORTANT, apply Obenauf's Leather Oil or LP to restore the natural oils lost during cleaning and to protect and preserve the leather. All cleaning processes will typically leach the important, natural oils out of your leather and these must be restored!
