When you spend time in the back country, you either spend a little on cheap boots and throw them away after a couple of months or you buy really good boots and wear them for years. Although the initial price is punishing, it actually works out cheaper to buy the better boots, not to mention safer because if your boots fail on you while you are in the field, miles from town, you are in some actual trouble. Obenaufs boot oil is what keeps your good boots  working for you. I paint it on with a paint brush. It is easy to use, dries without leaving a sticky mess and does not require extensive wiping after it has been applied. It also smells nice, like beeswax. For use on footwear, I recommend it over the heavier LP grease also sold by Obenaufs, because dirt and grit will cling to it if you don’t wipe off all the residue after applying it. Used for Leathercrafting May 27, 2026 Reviewer: Dennis Fischer from Clancy, MT United States   During the tanning process of Veg-Tanned leather, the natural oils are removed from the leather. I use Leather Oil to replace the lost oils, returning the leather to its original supple condition.   Works great !! Was this review helpful to you?

Best Product Available February 19, 2026 Reviewer: Ryan Kessler from Roanoke, WV United States   I will never use anything else for my leather. I do some basic leather crafting for myself and my family members, and this oil is seriously the best on the market. Hands down. Exceptional service, great product January 4, 2026 Reviewer: David Huyser from Muskegon, MI United States   I recently submitted an order on your website in which I made an error I was not able to resolve but I hit send anyway. Shortly thereafter, I received an email from Lindsey, who spotted my error and provided a method for correcting it. Then she found my resubmitted order and again emailed me to confirm it was received and correct. I was elated with the customer service, Lindsey should be commended. Saved My Seats! November 25, 2025 Reviewer: Casey from Alabama   The previous owners of my Miata never took care of the leather and they always left the top down, so the leather was sun baked to the point of being shrunken, stiff, and felt like it'd tear if you accidentally put too much concentrated pressure on it.  I tried Leatherique first based on the reviews of how it was the best at restoring, but it barely made any improvement in softness at all.  I was ready to give up and replace the seats until I learned about Obenauf's, so I decided to give it a try as my last chance to restore.  The Obenauf's has made a huge improvement in the leather's condition, the leather has relaxed and has a good amount of give to it now with some sections being soft and stretchy again.  I just finished my second cycle of cleaning, oiling, working, and buffing the leather dry then giving it time to distribute the oil with use.  I'm really happy with the results so far and feel pretty confident that a third or fourth cycle will get the leather completely supple.
