Liquid Leather Conditioner
A good leather conditioner is formulated to penetrate leather and keep it moisturized. Obenauf's® Leather Oil is the best leather conditioner for moderately wet and dry conditions. A true preservative and leather conditioner, Leather Oil is made with natural oils and beeswax, which nourish while still allowing leather to breathe. Created to resist water, restore, protect, and preserve your leather investment.

Obenauf's® Leather Oil provides protection to your leather items subjected to the elements, especially when hot, dusty, and dry conditions are dehydrating your leathers. Often called the "Dry Season Oil", it absorbs fast! It is so effective that one coat is all that's needed for thinner leathers on riding boots, furniture, and gloves. Try one application of our boot oil on your new leather boots, to shorten the break in period and reduce sore, blistered feet.

Dry Weather Ruins Leather

Oils in leather dissipate every day when it's dry; just like your skin. Wind, warm air (floorboard heaters), dust, chemicals, mud, and normal wear increase the rate of oil loss in leather footwear. Leather can be damaged by dryness, heat, and loss of oils. Dry leather can cut stitching and scuff easily, fibers can break prematurely causing cracks in your leather. The solution? Before the dry season begins, apply our leather conditioner, Obenauf's® Leather Oil.

Obenauf's® Oil is a true preservative and leather conditioner for:
  • Work Boots, Dress Boots, & Leather Apparel
  • Saddles & Tack
  • Belts, Holsters, Scabbards, & Sheathes
  • Vintage Leather Clothing
  • Leather Furniture
  • Leather Athletic Gear
  • And More!

Leather Oil is also sold in your choice of four different Economical Packages!

I live in the Northwoods of Maine. When you spend time in the back country, you either spend a little on cheap boots and throw them away after a couple of months or you buy really good boots and wear them for years. Although the initial price is punishing, it actually works out cheaper to buy the better boots, not to mention safer because if your boots fail on you while you are in the field, miles from town, you are in some actual trouble. Obenaufs boot oil is what keeps your good boots  working for you. I paint it on with a paint brush. It is easy to use, dries without leaving a sticky mess and does not require extensive wiping after it has been applied. It also smells nice, like beeswax. For use on footwear, I recommend it over the heavier LP grease also sold by Obenaufs, because dirt and grit will cling to it if you don’t wipe off all the residue after applying it.

5 of 5 Used for Leathercrafting May 27, 2026
Reviewer: Dennis Fischer from Clancy, MT United States
During the tanning process of Veg-Tanned leather, the natural oils are removed from the leather. I use Leather Oil to replace the lost oils, returning the leather to its original supple condition.   Works great !!

5 of 5 Best Product Available February 19, 2026
Reviewer: Ryan Kessler from Roanoke, WV United States
I will never use anything else for my leather. I do some basic leather crafting for myself and my family members, and this oil is seriously the best on the market. Hands down. I strongly urge whoever reads this review to consider buying some, as I doubt it will dissapoint.
